Mebendazole

Uses

Anthelmintic agent. It works by killing sensitive worms and causing them to be expelled from the body.
Used to treat infestations by worms including pinworms, roundworms, tapeworms, hookworms, and whipworms.

Dose

By mouth with or without food. 100 mg per dose, with one dose taken every two weeks.
The dosage may differ depending on which type of worm someone is infected with.

Drug interactions

Carbamazepine and Phenytoin lowers serum levels of mebendazole.
Cimetidine raises serum mebendazole levels, increasing its effectiveness.
